To promote and create a contest that announced the launch of the BizBreak iPhone app. BizBreak wanted the contest to promote the fun and relaxed nature of the application while increasing overall brand awareness of BizBreak LLC.
Shadow Concepts LLC utilized social tools like YouTube and Twitter to create a viral submission contest around business ideas. The contest brought together leading entrepreneurs as mentors and contributors to the grand prize giveaway of mentorship and cash. The contest involved getting 2 minute YouTube video submissions of contestant’s business ideas and then encouraging the promotion of it to their audience to get the most views on YouTube. The top 10 most viewed videos were chosen for a final vote to determine the winner.
The contests mentors were major industry influencers and gave away famous author’s books in exchange for Retweets announcing the contest.
The contest saw over 50 submitted videos with over 6,000 votes in the final round within a week. The contest was written up on numerous blogs and news sites including Business Insider and the world’s leading technology blog Read Write Web. This generated tens of thousands of pageviews to the contest page giving BizBreak LLC enormous exposure. The contest also led to hundreds of sales of the iPhone app in the first few weeks of launch. The contest also received over 1,150 shares on Facebook.
